Shortly after the tragic events of October 1, 2017, Brian Scroggins received a call to assist in the response and recovery efforts for the 1 October Festival Shooting. As a member of the Incident Command Team, he was given the responsibility of Spiritual/Emotional Care for the victims and their families. Brian brought together Chaplains, Pastors, Priests and Rabbis to provide care and counseling. As the incident expanded, he was also asked to oversee Donations Management and Volunteer Logistics. Brian rallied faith-based and community organizations to assist in this monumental task. Brian Scroggins is a valued community resource and the work of the Emergency Management Foundation will allow expanded support services to first responders and the community.
Brian Scroggins is dedicated to supporting first responders throughout southern Nevada. He has been active in major events requiring first-responder engagement, including Formula 1 and the Super Bowl. I have worked directly with Brian at the Multi-Agency Coordination Center during major events and have always found him to be a valuable asset. He has also served the community during our most challenging times, such as 1 October and the UNLV Campus Shooting, and he has been recognized locally and nationally for his service. I look forward to all the Emergency Management Foundation will be able to accomplish under Brian’s leadership.
